The consistency of this era is to be inconsistent with buildings of various design and materials spreading throughout the suburbs. And when referring to size, many of these homes once would have been classified as palatial.
These new estates in the West are some 20km’s to the CBD and include suburbs such as Caroline Springs and Cairn Lea. You will also find many very large allotments of land (i.e. ex- schools, disused Government sites, etc) that were located in the inner Western suburbs have been re-developed into smaller housing estates and generally have covenants limiting and/or guiding the dwelling to be erected.
