Not as ornate as its predecessor the Queen Anne, they became commonly known as Edwardians because they were built during the reign of King Edward. They are often seen within a comfortable walk to central Seddon and Yarraville.

Aesthetically intricate and usually larger than a Victorian in the same neighbourhood.

Available mostly as double fronted in either brick or weatherboard construction.

Distinguishing features include:

  • Slate, terracotta or corrugated iron roof
  • Gable roof form
  • Finials
  • Shingles
  • Timber fretwork
  • Box bay windows
  • Some lead lighting
