Generally found within walking distance to the Central Business Districts of Footscray, Yarraville and Seddon. Variations in style were single and double fronted and constructed in brick or weatherboard. Weatherboard is the most common variant found in the inner western suburbs.

  • Red & Brown brick (front only)
  • Weatherboard sides and rear
  • Cast iron lacework to verandahs
  • Stucco parapets
  • Double lining windows
  • Slate or corrugated iron roof
  • Extensive leadlight windows

  • Ornate doors
  • Rosette ceilings
  • Open fire place
  • Lath and plaster walls
  • Large cornices or none at all
